Alexis: We tried this Austrian restaurant by BAM for Alex's birthday. Didn't know quite what to make of it but we ordered the schnitzels (mine, above, is the cod) which came with red cabbage, potato salad and cucumber salad. For $16, you get a lot of food. To me this seemed like comfort food - the cod was cooked perfectly, with a crisp thin crust and the sides were also really good. The sour pickled-ness was a good contrast to the fried fish.
Alexis: For dessert, fresh key lime pie with "schlag" and strawberry sauce. Every time I see "schlag" on the menu it seems like something disgusting but it is actually fresh whipped cream. This was a yummy finish to our almost-German dinner. Next time we will order some of their beers, as we were hurting a little bit from birthday drinks the night before.
Alex: The schlag was good. Not as sweet as the typical whipped cream.

now that's a good looking cutlet sister.
my brothers and I always make fun of my german mom because she would always ask if we wanted our jello "mit schlag"! and we laughed and laughed--to this day when we order dessert we look at each other and say "mit schlag"!
hahaha! schlag has to be the most disgusting-sounding name for a delicious food item i've ever heard.
let's start a band called "mit schlag". kind of sounds like a porno.
