My first time to try this place - had dinner here on Saturday night with Erin and Audrey. Pictured above is our dessert, a marscarpone and vanilla bean cheesecake with port reduction and poached pears. Brown sugar crust. I'm surprised we didn't fight each other for the last bite - it was delicious.
To start we had a cheese plate - idziabal, alemero (?) and smoked gouda accompanied by pears, as well as a meat plate - spicy soppresata, smoked duck and bresaola. I had a yummy Verdejo to start and then we ordered a bottle of Cannonau - smooth, light and slightly spicy. As my main I had another appetizer - seared scallops with celery root puree and apples, balsamic vinegar and pumpkin seed oil on the side. Erin had a German-style braised pork shoulder with horseradish and spaetzle and Audrey had duck confit with brussels sprouts.
Needless to say, will be making a return visit. The wine selection is pretty extensive, it's dark and cozy inside, and the food is fresh and comforting.
